Harleston Angling Club Junior Results For July 4th 2002Harleston Junior Angling Clubs weekly fishing competition attracted another high turnout with nineteen keen youngsters lining the banks of Harleston Club Pit. Daniel Elliott (above right) was the only angler from last weeks top four to change tactics and finished run away winner with another big weight of carp weighing 41lb 6oz from peg 28. Daniel caught well from the start on floating pole and expander pellet feeding heavily with "Will's Pellets" to take four carp. A change to pellet fished on the bottom under a small float towards the end of the competition saw him add another six fish up to eight pounds in quick succession to complete his ten fish catch and his third straight win of the series. A peg-to-peg battle between Ricky Leggett from Diss, Charlie Hodd fished an excellent match catching small crucians, carp and bream up in the water with the best display of waggler skills seen at the club for many years by a junior angler. Charlie fed soft expander pellets little and often out to the island and used pellet, caster and corn hook baits to keep the fish coming to the net for the full duration of the three hour competition, one big mirror caught late on pushed his weight up to 23lb 7oz and his best ever finish position. Match Facts.Attendance : 19 ![]() Thirteen year old Thomas Sage after struggling in the first two competitions sought the help of the club PAA coach to see where his was going wrong and after a small amount of tweaking with his tackle and feeding technique managed to finish 8th with a new personal best match weight of 8lb 10oz and the seasons biggest bream of 2lb 4oz which was also a new personal best fish for the youngster.
