Basdens Marsh.

Peg 4 looking downstream on Basdens Marsh.Location-This short length is situated just outside Harleston. From Harleston Market place turn left and then left again at the Cherry Tree pub, travel down the hill and under the by-pass then turn right, Basdens Marsh is the first gate you come to on the left past the wooden fence.

Access to the fishery is through the left hand gate and the river flows from right to left, peg three is the first peg on this marsh for peg 1 use the right-hand gate.

20lb+ mixed catch from peg 1.Description- This is a short shallow marsh, narrow with a nice flow on the upstream pegs.

Tactics and pegs- Roach dace and chub are the main species and there are only a handful of pegs all shallow so fish location is easy in the summer, the pegs are also small so it suits short evening sessions or a roving approach when the water is clear. Come autumn and the first tinge of colour some good catches can be made and twenty pounds is possible if the bonus chub show.
