Clappers.

Looking downstream from the first marsh corner.Location-Situated downstream of the Shotford stretch and running downstream towards the village of Mendham. From Harleston Market place turn left and then left again at the Cherry Tree pub. At the bottom of the hill just before the bridge turn left, go past the farm, access to the fishery is via the many gates past the farm the last gate for club water is just past the next house approx 1 mile. All these marshes are linked near the river some with small footbridges which can be hard to locate in the summer when the vegatation is at it's peak.

One of the deeper runs this one is just below the second marsh.Description- The top four marshes are similar to the shotford bridge section with shallow lengths leading into short deeper pegs with a maximum depth of 6ft and no more than 11m wide, from marsh five onwards the river deepens and widens slightly with very little flow in the summer, with the reduced flow this section can weed up badly in the summer.

Tactics and pegs-The first four marshes are the best, with roach, dace and chub the target species and a roving approach would be your best bet. The bottom section from the fifth marsh onwards is best avoided unless you want to try your luck for a bonus tench or chub. Being quite a long stretch it's also suited to spinning with small pike, perch and chub dotted throughout the length.
