Harleston Angling Club Junior Results July 17th 2003.

The penultimate round of the Harleston Junior Angling Club's summer league saw Daniel Elliott retain the league title for the third year running with an unassailable points score of 78 from a maximum of 80. As league winner Daniel will now go forward as the Club representative to the sky sports backed Junior Fish'o'Mania final at Hayfield Fisheries near Doncaster, shown live on sky television on Saturday 2nd August.

Winner on the night was Charlie Hodd (pictured right) landing seven Common Carp and a bonus Mirror for a total of 36lb 11oz his highest match weight. Charlie caught steadily all night, with all his fish falling to pole fished pellet and meat from his margin swim tight to the near side cover on peg 5. This win also ensures Charlie finishes the league in silver medal position improving on his fifth place last season.

Ricky Leggett from Diss put in an excellent performance fishing the long pole and pellet, fishing peg 29. Ricky was into fish right from the off catching small Crucian Carp and Commons every cast adding one bonus Mirror Carp to boost his weight to 25lb 15oz and a well deserved second place on the night. Ricky is now in a very good position to leapfrog up the league in the final match with a good result.

Third from peg 27 was league champion Daniel Elliott with 14lb 5oz of small Carp and Skimmer Bream which fell for a variety of baits fished on the pole or method feeder.

Kieron Loane fishing peg 28 finished fourth with a level 11lbs of small Carp on the method feeder. Kieron now finding some late season form has moved up to fifth in the table.
