Jack Weatherley with a Carp from his second placed catch.Edward Howman claimed his first match win of the year with a confident display of pole fishing from the end peg on the night, peg thirteen. Edward fished the long pole tight to the margin cover on his left making full use of his end peg advantage, he kept the fish interested with steady and careful feeding with sweetcorn and pellet introduced via a pole cup to keep presentation tight and accurate. He was rewarded for his efforts with a steady stream of Carp ranging from a few ounces up to 5lb mixed with Bream and Roach and a bonus Goldfish to add colour to his winning 26lb 6oz weight.

Jack Weatherley finished second to land his first Championship points of the season after a peg to peg battle with current champion Daniel Elliott, Jack just taking the verdict with an 18lb 8oz mixed bag of Bream and Carp all caught on pole and sweetcorn fished tight to the margin reeds on peg 29, moving out to eleven metres once the inside line slowed. Jack, Championship silver medallist for the last two seasons also suffered the loss of two big Carp from hook pulls possibly costing him victory and maximum points in his quest for a Championship Victory in his final season as a Junior.

Rob King in action.Daniel Elliott chasing a record fifth title finished in third place to top the leader board after two rounds with a pole caught catch of carp weighing from peg 30. Daniel found the fish would not settle and had to switch baits and swims on a regular basis to keep fish coming to the net his 17lb 11oz bag just short of second place.

Newcomer Rob King kept the pressure on Daniel finishing fourth with 14lb 12oz of Carp landed from the margins with corn hookbait to again pick up good points and second place in the league.
