Last Chance 2005.
Harleston Junior Angling Clubs last competition of the current season again attracted an excellent turnout, with sixteen eager youngsters lining the bank of the Club Pit at Weybread before the two month closure for maintenance comes into affect at the end of the month. The lake fished well considering the atrocious weather, cold rain falling for the full four hours of this competition, still all the anglers weighed in with an average weight of 12lbs per angler. Harleston Club champion Daniel Elliott again produced a top class performance netting a massive 46lb from peg 8 to finish well ahead of the chasing pack. After a slow start Daniel soon found his rhythm and then caught steadily for the rest of the match to net thirteen big carp. All the fish were landed with pole-fished meat presented at fourteen metres tight to the far bank features.
Club captain Charlie Hodd finished just one fish short of James landing eleven decent carp from peg 16 for a 21lb 4oz total. Charlie caught all his fish on the pole with pellet and corn hookbaits alternating between the margins and the eleven-metre line to keep the fish interested. In fourth place newcomer Paul Green done well on an alien water to land just four big carp on pole fished meat for a level 19lb. Full result
