View across the Lake back to the house.Weybread Fishery is an excellent privately run lake with thirty three comfortable pegs only a short drive from the small market town of Harleston. The lake has also featured in one of John Wilson's Go Fishing programs, John was so impressed with his days fishing he now visits the water for pleasure sessions when ever time permits.


Set in a private garden the four acre lake is well maintaned with neatly trimmed trees and short lawns all around. The lake is a well matured clay lined pit with a good selection features, and island and many species of water plants, lilies and trees lining the banks you also get a beautiful commanding view across the Waveney valley from the back of the lake. The lake was originally dug as a private trout water twenty years ago, the depth ranges from four foot deep at the back of the island to thirteen foot in the main bowl and holds a good colour all season.


Location The lake is situated three miles South of Harleston in the small village of Weybread in North Suffolk. View across the Lake including one of the wooden platforms.
Directions - From Harleston market place turn left and head towards Diss, turn left again at the Cherry Tree pub sign posted Halesworth, Fressingfield (B1116) Follow this road out of town and over the River Waveney into Suffolk approx 1mile. Carry on straight when you come to the three way fork, another mile you will come into the village of Weybread go past the Garage on the right and the garden centre on the left and turn at the next left into Mill Lane, 100yards past the garden centre. Follow this narrow lane for 300yards and the fishery is signposted on the left.

Tickets Day tickets are available strictly by appointment only costing £7 per day which is a bargain as it includes two rods and are limited to fifteen per day to ensure there is plenty of room for everyone.Contact Adam Chapman 01379 588141 for bookings and details.


Raymond Turner with the average size bream.Fish Stocks The lake is heavily stocked with a variety of species with carp to over twenty pounds, monster roach up to three pounds plenty of bream averaging three and a half pound and a good spawning year recently has added shoals of hand sized skimmers, also present are tench, perch, crucian carp, rudd both golden and normal, chub and pike again with some fish pushing twenty pounds. Hoards of small roach can be a pain in the warmer months but heavy feeding or big baits such as corn will keep them at bay.


Access and PegsView across the Lake including one of the wooden platforms. There is good access and a short lawn path right round the lake. The thirty-two pegs are comfortable and well spaced with plenty of cover keeping them secluded many have large solid wooden platforms.


Rules.

  1. Fishing by prior booking only.
  2. Manufactured barbless Hooks only.
  3. No keepnets.
  4. Disinfect landing nets before entering fishery.
  5. No boilies or nuts.
  6. Fishing only from marked pegs.
  7. One angler per peg(Unless arranged).
  8. Anglers below the age of 14 must be accompanied by an adult.
  9. The owner accepts no liability for damage or loss, including contents of vehicles left on the premises.
  10. No litter.
  11. Rods are not to be left unattended.
  12. No bivvies
  13. Fishing allowed from 7am until dusk.
  14. No pike fishing.
